Description
Material Overview: Modified PA12 (Polyamide 12 Compounds)
Modified PA12 materials are high-performance engineering plastics based on polyamide 12 (PA12), tailored through the addition of fillers, reinforcements, or functional additives to meet specific application requirements. These compounds retain the excellent baseline properties of PA12—such as low moisture absorption, outstanding chemical resistance, and flexibility—while offering enhanced mechanical, thermal, or processing characteristics.
Key Features:
Low water absorption and excellent dimensional stability
Superior chemical and hydrolysis resistance
Good impact strength and fatigue resistance
Customizable through reinforcement (e.g., glass fiber, glass beads, carbon fiber), toughening agents, flame retardants, and lubricants
Excellent processability for injection molding, extrusion, and 3D printing
Common Types of Modification:
PA12 GF – Glass fiber reinforced, for improved strength and stiffness
PA12 GK – Glass bead filled, for surface finish and dimensional accuracy
PA12 CF – Carbon fiber reinforced, for high rigidity and low weight
PA12 FR – Flame retardant grades, for electrical and safety applications
PA12 Elastomer-Modified – Enhanced flexibility and impact resistance
Applications
Automotive fuel and brake systems, tubing, connectors
Industrial machinery parts, gears, and pneumatic components
Electronic housings and flame-retardant applications
Sporting goods, consumer products, and drone parts
